Dybala Stays at Roma, Rejects €75 Million Saudi Offer

Paulo Dybala has decided to remain with AS Roma, following in the footsteps of club legend Francesco Totti, after rejecting a staggering €75 million offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah. The Argentine star's announcement on Thursday ended weeks of speculation regarding his future, as rumors had swirled about a potential move to the wealthy Saudi league. Dybala confirmed his commitment to Roma with a heartfelt message on Instagram, stating, "Thank you, Rome... See you on Sunday."

Dybala's decision to stay came during a time of uncertainty. Despite training separately from the main squad, he made it clear he had no intention of leaving the Italian capital. Although he was left out of the starting lineup for Roma's Serie A opener against Cagliari, fans were relieved to hear that their star player was committed to the club. His decision came as Roma entered a crucial period, with Dybala entering the final year of his contract, which includes an automatic extension if he plays at least 15 official matches this season.

Since joining Roma from Juventus in 2022, Dybala has become an integral part of the team. Over his 78 appearances, he has netted 34 goals and contributed 18 assists, proving to be a vital asset. Roma fans had grown increasingly concerned about losing their talisman, even staging protests outside the club's training ground last week to pressure management into retaining him. The overwhelming support from fans undoubtedly played a role in Dybala's decision to remain loyal to the club.

Al Qadsiah, the newly promoted Saudi club, made repeated attempts to lure Dybala away from Roma throughout the summer transfer window. The club, boasting star players like former Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez and ex-Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, sought to bolster its lineup with the Argentine forward. However, despite the lucrative offer, Dybala chose to stay with Roma, prioritizing his connection to the club and its supporters over financial gain.

Dybala's decision was celebrated by his Roma and Argentina teammate, Leandro Paredes, who expressed his excitement on social media. "For those who haven’t understood it yet, he remains with us," Paredes posted, reflecting the joy shared by Roma fans. As Dybala continues his journey with AS Roma, his loyalty has further endeared him to the supporters, solidifying his place as one of the club’s most beloved players.
