Bayer Leverkusen 24-25 120th Anniversary Kit Released

Update: Bayer Leverkusen has officially launched their 120th-anniversary kit, designed by Castore, to be worn in one Bundesliga match this season. This special jersey celebrates the club's founding on July 1, 1904, by employees of the Bayer pharmaceutical company. The kit connects the club's storied history with modern innovation, marking a century and two decades of footballing excellence.

The 2024-2025 anniversary kit takes inspiration from Bayer Leverkusen's first kit from the 1907/08 season. It features a sleek, predominantly black design, accented by a red polo collar and yellow buttons underneath. These classic design elements nod to the club’s rich heritage, blending tradition with modern fashion. The simplicity of the color scheme highlights the elegance of the jersey, staying true to its roots.

One of the standout features of the kit is the reimagined club crest, incorporating the founding logo of the gymnastics and games club of Farbenfabriken vorm. Friedrich Bayer & Co. The inclusion of the Bayer lion on the crest reinforces the club's close ties to the iconic Bayer brand, symbolizing the company's legacy in both pharmaceuticals and sports.

A technological innovation makes this kit even more special. Embedded underneath the logo is a unique NFC chip that fans can interact with using their smartphones. This chip provides access to exclusive content, offering supporters a chance to engage with the club in a way that extends beyond just wearing the shirt. It’s a fusion of heritage and modern technology.

Finally, the jersey’s minimalist aesthetics are completed with the Castore logo and the Barmenia sponsor in dark grey, nearly blending with the black of the kit. The word “Werkself” is printed on the back of the neck, a tribute to the team's industrial roots. This 120th-anniversary jersey is more than just a kit—it’s a wearable piece of Bayer Leverkusen’s history.
